What belongs on the acknowledgment?
Identify the recipient organization and donor, then record the contribution date, amount, purpose and payment reference. Have the authorized recipient check these against the organization’s records.
How does this differ from a tax certificate?
The Income Tax portal’s Form 113/114 manual describes donation reporting and certificates for the applicable organization and tax-year scope, starting with tax year 2026–27. These ordinary receipt files do not reproduce Form 114, decide deductibility or establish the organization’s approval status.
Check the contribution record
- Confirm the organization, donor and actual payment.
- Record the contribution amount, date, purpose and reference.
- Have the authorized recipient verify the acknowledgment.
- Use the applicable statutory process separately if the organization and contribution fall within it.
Prepare the receipt copy
Replace the placeholders in Word with the actual donation details and check the amount manually. Save the completed copy with the organization’s payment record. The PDFs have no fillable fields.
Common questions
Does this establish a tax deduction?
No. Deductibility depends on the applicable law, organization and contribution. This file does not decide it.
Can I use this as Form 114?
No. Use the applicable official reporting and certificate process separately. This download is an ordinary donation acknowledgment.
